A record number of one hundred and thirty-six students representing Forty-two Western region colleges have entered this year's Wynspeak competition.
The competition is well underway with five of the eight preliminary rounds now completed. Eight colleges will be hosting, five in the City of Wyndham and the others in Hobsons Bay, Caroline Springs and Bacchus Marsh.
The standard thus far has been outstanding and the Final to be held at Thomas Carr Catholic Regional College’s Performing Art Centre on Friday 2nd June at 6.30pm promises to be a memorable event.
Wynspeak is a wonderful opportunity for students in the Western Region to both develop and showcase their public speaking skills and has been growing year by year through the support of a growing number of Western Region colleges.
In 2023 the following new colleges have provided participants:
  • Heathdale Christian College- Melton Campus
  • Melton Christian College
  • Wyndham Christian College
  • Caroline Chisholm Catholic Regional College
  • Melton Secondary College
Wynspeak not only provides students with an opportunity to develop effective public speaking skills but they are also provided an opportunity to MC the event once they leave college. In fact all of the preliminaries in 2023 are being MC’d by past competitors.
Please note that the Wynspeak Final being held on June 2nd is a free event and students, parents, teaching staff and the general public are invited – no bookings are required, but please be in attendance by 6pm as the competition begins promptly at 6.30pm.
